Croeso - A very warm welcome to our website and thank you for visiting.
It is with very mixed emotions I have to inform you officially that I shall be retiring from my position as head teacher at the end of the Summer term. I will have been here nearly 17 years. I arrived at the school as a teaching head in 1997. The school pupil numbers were low and many classes were mixed age. They were challenging times but the St. David’s school community including pupils, parents, governors and agencies have always offered me fantastic and constant support during my time here. The caring, family atmosphere was already a great strength at St. David’s when I came here and I have always seen as my primary objective the importance of maintaining this ethos. I feel I leave the school in good shape and in good hands. You have a gifted and caring new Headteacher in Mrs. Lundrigan who will bring a fresh pair of eyes to the developing needs of our school along with a committed staff who always put your children in the forefront of their planning.
The school is full with waiting lists to get in. My only regret is that I leave without witnessing the completion of phase two of the Building Project.
My intention is to keep busy and do some house project work with my son who is in the building trade, but I know I shall miss the children terribly and also many of you parents with whom I have had the privilege to build relationships over the years. I have been very lucky to have served this community for the last 16 years and would like to thank you all again for the tremendous support you always give me

P4C
Philosophy for Children(P4C)is a teaching method that boosts children's thinking and learning skills.
Through the introduction of P4C we aim to
*Develop children's oracy skills across the curriculum.
*Build children's confidence to express their ideas and theories.
The children will be given a daily Philosophical Question which will be discussed in the class.
Friday afternoon will be Philosophical Friday, when all classes will take part in a P4C activity.
After half term we will be developing parental participation in P4C. a child will be chosen from each class and they will be given a Philosophical Question. we would ask you to discuss this question with your child, family, friends and record responses in the book.
